Clay's Clincher: Challenges Await UTPA Men's Hoops

Ryan Marks' 1st season as head coach of the Texas-Pan American men's hoops program is shaping up, schedule-wise.

Here's what we know so far for big Division I road trips:

Nov. 16th-UTPA at Lamar

Nov. 24th-UTPA at Cal

Dec. 2nd-UTPA at Nebraska

Good to see Lamar back on the schedule for the Broncs, since 1965 the two teams have played 65 times , but they haven't played since 2004 (a UTPA win).

This will be the Broncs' 2nd straight year playing Mike Montgomery's squad at Berkeley, last year UTPA fell to the Bears 85-58.

At Nebraska is the most intriguing matchup here, Doc Sadler is building the Huskers into a legit North contender.

Strangely, the Huskers are the only Big XII team the Broncs haven't played in their history. Against the other 11 teams, the Broncs are a combined 6-33, with 3 wins vs Baylor, 2 vs Oklahoma State, and 1 vs Texas A&M.

Nebraska becomes the Broncs' 1st Big XII opponent since UTPA played Texas, Texas Tech, and OU in an extremely ambitious 2005-2006 season.
