The slow 2014 hurricane season is flickering back to life as an area of low pressure is now forecast to become something stronger.
92L, as it is called, stands a 70 percent chance of becoming a tropical depression or tropical storm Bertha this week.
The future storm is forecast to move west-northwest at 15 to 20mph toward the Lesser Antilles. Right now 92L is more than 1,200 miles east of Antigua and 3,500 miles east-southeast of Brownsville.
The long range forecast does not appear friendly to this potential storm, loads of dry air and wind shear aloft promise to cut it fairly short.
