Rain hitting the sweet spot

The National Weather Service office in Midland, Texas put out a special statement indicating authorities in Mexico will be releasing water from the Luis Leon reservoir in Chihuahua, Mexico very soon.

Water District sources in the valley say this is a move anticipating substantial rainfall from tropical depression Ingrid. Ingrid made landfall further north near La Pesca some 150 south of Brownsville which has put heavy rain on a collision course with the valley's reservoir watershed.

If this rain makes it to the Conchos basin out west it will mean a potential shot in the arm for Lake Amistad and Falcon Lake along the Rio Grande which in turn could alleviate many immediate drought concerns for Deep South Texas.
