      Valley Biz Blog - Bass Pro Shops Job Fair in Harlingen

      A job fair will be held Monday through Wednesday, August 15th through August 17th, for the new Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World opening in Harlingen.

      Those interested in employment with the outdoors store need to apply in person at The Harlingen Community Center, 201 E. Madison, Harlingen, from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM each day.

      Applications will be accepted for full-time and part-time positions in the following departments: fishing, hunting, camping, footwear, apparel/gifts, marine accessories, boat sales, inventory control, customer service, parts sales and the cash office. In addition, the company will be employing cashiers, greeters, stockers, marine technicians, boat riggers, boat detailers and boat sales consultants.

      Applicants must be 18 years old to apply.

      Also, a Bowling Operations Technician will be hired as the Harlingen Bass Pro Shops store is the third in the company TMs history to feature the Uncle Buck TMs Fishbowl and Grill.

      The 15,000 square-foot fishbowl, located within the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World store, features a truly unique atmosphere and design.

      Geared for plenty of family fun, the Fishbowl offers a twelve-lane bowling alley, casual dining and a private room perfect for birthday parties or small family gatherings.

      Restaurant applications will also be taken August 15th-17th for servers, hosts/hostesses, bussers, bartenders, dishwashers, line cooks and prep.

      Associate benefits provided include an excellent wage potential, flexible morning and evening schedules, holiday pay, medical insurance, and associate discounts at Bass Pro Shops.

      The 145,000 square-foot outdoors store, equivalent in size to 3 and 1/2 football fields, is the signature anchor for the Cameron Crossing retail development located at intersection of U.S. Expressways 83 and 77.

      The store is scheduled to open Wednesday, November 9th at 6pm with a special Evening for Conservation that is free and open to the public. T

      he evening TMs festivities will include special celebrity appearances, exciting exhibits and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
