Week one of early voting in the 2012 general election has come to a close and the valley is seeing record numbers, especially in Hidalgo County.
Voters seem to be more energized this time around, anxious to get out the vote and make their voice heard in this close election.
AACT Now has been hard at work encouraging the valley to exercise their right to vote and this morning Eliza Alvarado brought the results from week one to Action 4 Sunrise.
Hidalgo County alone saw a 41% increase in early voter turnout from the 2008 election with 60, 769 people heading out to the polls.
Cameron County is seeing great numbers as well. 21, 336 people turned out in the first week and there is still one week left of early voting to go.
You have until Nov. 2 to cast your ballot during early voting. If you didn't get a chance to make it out during those days, Election Day will be November 6.
