$1 million dollar bonds for Little Mexico murder suspects

Two members of the Po Boys street gang remain behind bars under $1 million dollar bonds for a New Year's Eve murder.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Daniel Cruz and Jose Alex Garcia on a murder charges on Wednesday.

The two Po Boys street gang members are accused in the fatal shooting of 21-year-old South Side Bandidos associate Miguel Angel Padilla.

It all started during an argument between members of the rival gangs.

Members of the two gangs were attending New Year's Eve parties across the street from each other in the Little Mexico neighborhood south of Alamo.

Deputies told Action 4 News that they learned Cruz and Garcia had been staying at the Executive Motel off Moore Road and South Cage Boulevard in Pharr.

Investigators had them under surveillence when they arrested them outside the hotel around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Both men faced a judge at the Hidalgo County Jail on Thursday morning where they were both issued $1 million dollar bonds.
