      $1.2 million dollars in bonds for 'The Park Girl'

      A La Feria businesswoman known as ~The Park Girl TM is back in the Rio Grande Valley and behind bars under $1.2 million dollars in bonds.

      Jo Leigh Ares surrendered to authorities in Hondo, Texas on Wednesday and is facing a new round of criminal charges.

      The mobile home vendor is accused of swindling her customers out of tens of thousands of dollars.

      Authorities launched a criminal investigation against Ares following an Action 4 News report back in October.

      She TMs now facing multiple counts of theft.

      Ares left the Valley after somebody allegedly fired gunshots at her Palm Valley home.

      Authorities tracked her down and arrested her in Boise, Idaho in November.

      Ares surrendered to authorities in just 43 miles west of San Antonio in Hondo on Wednesday.

      Cameron County Precinct 7 deputy constables and La Feria police traveled to Hondo to take custody of her and bring her back to the Valley.

      Ares appeared before Cameron County Pct. 7-1 Adam Gonzales on Thursday morning where she was given $1.2 million dollars in bonds for four state jail felony counts of theft.

      The La Feria businesswoman is now in custody at the Cameron County Jail.
