Authorities are investigating how more than $1.3 million dollars worth of marijuana hidden inside a shipment of bell peppers from Mexico.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers reported that the seizure happened at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge on Friday.
Customs officers reported that an 18-wheeler arrived from Mexico with a shipment of bell peppers.
Authorities were using an imaging system to inspect the shipment when they allegedly discovered 189 packages with 1,332 pounds of marijuana inside.
Investigators believe that the drugs are worth $1,332,000 dollar on the streets.
No arrests were made but customs officers seized the 18-wheeler amid an ongoing criminal investigation.
