$20,000 bond for man who choked girlfriend

San Benito Police Department: Dustin Thomason

A Garland man was arrested in San Benito for choking his girlfriend during an assault.

Dustin Thomason has been charged with assault-family violence- impending breath or circulation.

Police said the victim called police after the assault happened on North Milam Street.

While at her house, the victim said Thomason pinned her to the bed and tried to choke her with his hands around her neck.

According to the victim, Thomason also poured a soda and spit on her while she was on the bed.

Police were able to locate Thomason and place him under arrest.

The 31-year-old is at the Cameron County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
