A Harlingen cheerleading coach accused in of sexually abusing a former male student faced a judge on Monday morning.
Harlingen police arrested 24-year-old Andrew Gonzales on a sexual assault of a child charge on Sunday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that the allegations came to light back in April when the boy's mother reported the crime.
Police said the Gonzales is accused of having sexual contact with the boy back in July or August 2011 when the boy was 16 years old.
Elite Cheer Force Academy Owner Brandy Maley told Action 4 News that she is stunned by charges but is standing by Gonzales.
Gonzales faced a Harlingen municipal judge on Monday where he was issued a $20,000 dollar bond.
Court records released on Monday afternoon show that it all started while Gonzales was working at the South Texas Extreme Tumbling gym in Harlingen back in July 2011.
The now-17-year-old told police that Gonzales started sending him text messages with "winkie faces" but then out of the blue sent a nude picture of a woman.
Gonzales allegedly sent the boy 12 pictures of nude women over two months time.
The cheerleading coach allegedly told the student that he could get girls to have sex with the him if he let Gonzales perform oral sex on him.
According to the court records, the two were alone when Gonzales pulled down the boy's shorts and performed oral sex on him.
The boy told police that he was shaking and trembling.
Gonzales allegedly offered to let the boy wear his sunglasses but stormed out of the house mad when the boy didn't get aroused.
Investigators were able to recover the text messages and photos of nude women from the boy's cell phone.
