The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has released a complete list of the top 10 most stolen cars in 2012.
Pickups are the most common target for car thieves according to DPS.
Here is a list of the top stolen passenger vehicles:

Vehicle theft can be prevented by hiding contents that may be desirable to thieves, locking vehicle doors and taking keys.
Since the release of the Texas Auto Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority (ABTPA) task force in 1991, the state has seen a 61 percent reduction in vehicle thefts.
