$600,000 bond set for Rio Grande City employee charged with sexual abuse

Jason Solis // Starr County Sheriff's Office

A Rio Grande City employee remains behind bars on a $600,000 bond after he was accused of sexual assault of a minor.

Police arrested Jason Solis, a city employee, Friday on four counts of sexual assault.

Investigators are looking into whether or not city employees failed to report the alleged sexual abuse.

According to the Texas Penal Code, failing to report sexual abuse is against the law.

The sexual abuse reportedly began around 2013.

The 25-year-old city employee worked for the Boys and Girls Club, but then was reassigned to the Rio Grande City TMs Park and Recreational Department.

The victim reportedly told authorities that the abuse began back in 2013.

The Rio Grande City Police Department and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services are looking into the sexual assault charges.

A judge set Solis TM total bond at $600,000.

Solis faces four charges of sexual assault, and remains behind bars at the Starr County Jail.
