A Valley Woman Falls Victim to an Email Hoax

A woman in Harlingen claims to be a victim of an internet scam.

Ruth Reyes said she received an email, allegedly from yahoo, asking her to enter her account username, password and birthday.

She said the email stated without this information, her email account would be closed.

Reyes said her friends later received an email from her account asking for their help.

One of Reyes TM friends said she received an email that Reyes needed money because she was stuck in the U.K.

Now, Reyes wants to warn others about this possible scam. I realized the email alert was probably the one that had started it all and that it really wasn TMt from yahoo.

Yahoo mail said never give out your password. And, if you receive a suspicious email from a yahoo account, immediately report it to Yahoo.
