Action 4 News launches special relief drive for Japan

Action 4 News has launched a disaster relief drive to help earthquake victims in Japan.

The project is called Spirit of the Valley: Taking Action 4 Japan.

As of Sunday night, March 20th, more than 8,649 people were confirmed dead and 13,262 reported missing.

These figures do not include the near half million reported homeless.

Action 4 News is teaming up with the American Red Cross is collecting monetary donations over the next two weeks starting March 21st to April 1st to help make a those in the midst of the crisis. One hundred percent of the donations will go directly to Japan.

The money will be used to provide water, food, shelter, medical supplies and clothing for those in need.

Action 4 News will also be taking the drive into the community. We will broadcast live from he H.E.B. on Paredes Line, H.E.B. Plus! in Mission and at the KGBT studio in Harlingen on March 25th.
