Alleged 8-liner operator arrested at international bridge

Jose Parra

A man accused of running an illegal 8-liner arcade is behind bars after being arrested at an international bridge in Brownsville.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers arrested Jose Parra at the Veterans International Bridge on Tuesday.

Customs officers reported that Parra came across the bridge from Matamoros but a routine record check revealed outstanding warrants.

Jail records show that Parra was wanted for gambling promotion, keeping a gambling place and possession of gambling devices.

Cameron County District Attorney TMs Office confirmed Parra was wanted following a recent raid.

Court records show Parra was wanted for being the owner of machines at the Golden Arcade Game Room off Expressway 83 in Harlingen.

Authorities raided the 8-liner arcade back on April 12th.

Parra was booked in the Cameron County Jail on Tuesday but posted bond early Wednesday afternoon.
