Argument ends with Weslaco man shot in the chest

Authorities are investigating a Tuesday night argument that ended with a man getting shot in the chest.

It all happened outside a home on the 700 block of Shane Street around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Weslaco police said a 40-year-old man was shot in the chest after arguing with someone in front of his house.

The man's wife told police that her husband came home with an injured ankle after he was arguing with an acquaintance.

Both the man and his wife were in their front yard when a white Nissan Sentra passed by the house several times.

During the last pass, the man walked to the street and spoke with someone in the car.

A single shot rang out leaving the man injured with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Paramedics rushed the man to the Knapp Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect drove away from the scene but police said he is an older Hispanic male in mid to late 40's with gray hair.

The man was last seen wearing a white and may be named "Rodolfo" or "Rudy."

Anyone with information is asked to call Weslaco Crime Stoppers at (956) 968-TIPS or (956) 968-8477.
