Authorities confirm that they have recovered the body of missing Weslaco man Edward Heston Owens.
The discovery was made at an orchard less than a quarter of a mile from the family's southside home.
Family members reported Owens went missing from his Chaparral Street home on Sunday evening and that he needed medication for epilepsy.
A team of Weslaco police officers searched the area in an expanding perimeter from his home.
An investigation found the missing man's body around 4 p.m. Monday in an orchard less than a quarter-mile from the family's house.
Weslaco Police Department spokesman J.P. Rodriguez said authorities have notified the family and are offering chaplain services.
Authorities have ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death for Owens.
