Three men arrested in scheme to ship marijuana via FedEx

Three men are behind bars after they allegedly participated in a scheme to ship marijuana via FedEx.

Cameron County District Attorney's Office investigators arrested the following three men on Monday:

Eduardo Villarreal Jesus Walter Beltri-Ortiz Jose Heriberto Calderon

Investigators told Action 4 News that Villarreal was seen leaving a FedEx shipping center in Harlingen.

Authorities had previously arrested Villarreal for shipping 154 pounds of marijuana from a freight center in Brownsville back in April.

An investigators spoke to Villarreal before he entered a GMC Yukon in the parking lot.

Beltri-Ortiz, who was a passenger, allegedly took off running but was caught.

Calderon was identified as a second passenger inside the SUV where authorities found 12 bundles with 20 pounds of marijuana inside.

All three men are facing possession of marijuana charges.

Beltri-Ortiz is facing an additional charge of evading arrest and an addition marijuana charge from November.
