A wheelchair bound sex offender and his wife are being held for questioning following a raid at their home in Hidalgo.

Investigators told Action 4 News that it all started when a concerned citizen called Hidalgo police.

The caller allegedly that Hidalgo police received information that 65-year-old Eddie White and his wife were harboring illegal immigrants at their 1st Street home.

According to investigators, the caller also alleged that a female immigrant was being forced into prostitution.

Neither White nor his wife are facing criminal charges at this time but investigators confirmed that they are being held for questioning.

Acting Assistant Border Patrol Chief Henry Mendiola told Action 4 News that Hidalgo police asked for assistance.

Mendiola said that authorities searching the home found an adult woman who was in the United States illegally.

The woman is being held for possible deportation proceedings while White and his wife are being questioned.

The case remains under investigation.

White was previously featured on Action 4 News after filing a lawsuit against the City of Hidalgo for not providing wheelchair ramps on sidewalks and public places.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Sex Offender Registry, White raped a 15-year-old girl in Oregon back in 2003.

White served 14 months in jail in the offense and lived in Fort Worth before moving to Hidalgo.
