Pharr police confirmed that 56-year-old Elvita Balli and 53-year-old Ricardo Humberto Soto were both found dead.
Officers were called to Long Elementary School on the city's northeast side at 7:27 p.m. Monday.
School employees saw the two unconscious inside Balli's Cadillac CTS.
Officers went in for a closer look and found Balli shot to death in the driver's seat while Soto was found shot to death in the passenger's seat.
Investigators identified Soto as Balli's ex-boyfriend.

Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Rosa Trevio told Action 4 News that Balli was shot several times in the chest and once in the forehead at close range.
Judge Trevio said Soto drove over in his jeep and then got in Balli's car.
Soto did not appear to have a previous criminal history but Judge Trevio said investigators found a box full of bullets inside his jeep.
