Authorities search for suspects in botched kidnapping north of Alamo

Authorities are looking for suspects who allegedly tried to kidnap a person north of Alamo on Wednesday afternoon.

It all happened on Alberta Road between Val Verde and Tower Roads around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the suspects unsuccessfully tried to kidnap a person at that location.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff TMs Office is the lead investigator in the case.

The incident is being considered as an attempted aggravated kidnapping investigation.

Local law enforcement officials are on alert for the suspects but no description was immediately available.

The incident is the latest armed kidnapping in Hidalgo County.

A Hidalgo County Sheriff TMs Office deputy was hospitalized after being shot in an incident where the deputy shot and killed a drug cartel kidnapping suspect early Sunday morning.

A bound and gagged person stuffed in the trunk of a Mexico-bound car was rescued by Hidalgo police early Wednesday morning.

It TMs not clear if the incidents are related.
