Authorities searching for driver in early morning hit and run

Thu, 22 Aug 2013 13:09:11 GMT — San Benito Police launched a search for the driver of a pick-up involved in a hit and run accident Thursday morning that injured a woman. The accident happened on the northbound lanes of Expressway 77 near the Paso Real exit in San Benito at around 3:30 a.m. San Benito police told Action 4, a Chevrolet Silverado hit a compact vehicle, sending it crashing into the barriers and causing it to spin out of control. The car sustained major damage to the rear end. Police told us the driver was taken to Valley Baptist Medical Center to be checked out. The Silverado is described as light in color. An investigation is now underway.
