Investigators at the scene the next day.

A woman was hit by a car and killed while walking in the middle of the road Friday night.

The accident happened on FM 907, south of Minnesota Road, around 8:30 p.m.

She has been identified as 49-year-old, Beatrice Olvera Alvarez from Edinburg.

Texas Department of Public Safety said that she was struck and killed at the scene by a Ford F250.

The driver was a 19-year-old. He had three passengers in the car.

He stayed at the scene of the accident and was questioned, but no charges have been filed.

Investigators said that another person had called 911 to report the woman walking in the street just minutes before the woman was struck.

They were trying to get police out to the area to get the woman off the street.

Toxicology results are pending, but it is unknown if Alvarez was under the influence of anything.

She has a 17-year-old daughter and a son in his early 20 TMs.

Troopers went out to the scene Saturday morning to look for evidence.
