Baby caught in the middle of argument over marijuana

Raul Espinoza // Cameron County Jail

A Cameron Park man is out on bond following an argument about smoking marijuana that allegedly ended with him attacking his common law wife while she was carrying their baby.

Cameron County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested 25-year-old Raul Espinoza on assault family violence and child endangerment charges on Monday evening.

Court records show that Espinoza was smoking a small marijuana cigar when his common-law-wife grabbed it and threw it at him.

Espinoza allegedly responded by pushing her down while she was carrying their 2-month-old baby.

The woman told deputies that she did not drop the baby but had to defend herself from Espinoza, who started attacking her.

Espinoza appeared before a Cameron County Magistrate Court judge on Wednesday where he was issued $12,500 dollars in bonds.
