A Bayview woman is facing criminal charges after being accused of leading authorities on a DWI chase with two children inside her SUV.
Cameron County Pct. 6 deputy constables arrested 40-year-old Rebecca Horton Franke on Sunday night.
Court records show that a deputy constable pulled Franke over for failing to stay in her lane off FM 2893 in Laureles.
The deputy constable reported that Franke kept driving her Cadillac SUV even though deputy had his emergency red and blue lights on.
The records show that once pulled over, Franke appeared intoxicated and that the deputy constable gave her a series of field sobriety tests.
Franke allegedly failed the field sobriety tests prompting the deputy constable to arrest her on a DWI charge.
Authorities upgraded the charges from a misdemeanor DWI to a state jail felony because Franke had a 9-year-old boy and a 10-year-old boy as passengers.
Deputy constables charged her with evading arrest and two counts of DWI with a child passenger.
The Bayview woman is out of jail after posting $6,000 dollars in bonds.
