Two women are facing criminal charges after a birthday celebration ended with both of them getting arrested for having sex in public.

McAllen police arrested 40-year-old Lydia Linda Reyes and 25-year-old Clarisa Ramos last Wednesday afternoon.

Court records released on Tuesday show that both of them were charged with public lewdness.

The records show that police officers were called to the parking lot of the Buffalo Wings & Rings off North 10th Street for a couple having sex in a car.

An officer walked up to an Audi and allegedly found both of them partially clothed and engaging in a sexual act.

The two women allegedly appeared intoxicated and laughed at the officer.

Ramos allegedly asked the officer not to arrest her because it was her birthday.

The two said they had been drinking at the bar but went to the car.

Court records show that Ramos had an outstanding warrant for a past court court case for being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Both women were booked into the Hidalgo County Jail on Thursday morning where they were released after each of them posted $2,000 dollar bonds.
