Blockades reported in Reynosa amid Semana Santa traffic
Traffic in a border city already whose streets were already congested with tourists for Semana Santa was dealt a double blow on Monday.
Reynosa residents used the #reynosafollow hashtag of Twitter to report blockades in diferent parts of the city.
It all started on the city's southside on a highway linking Reynosa to Matamoros and Monterrey just before 3 p.m. Monday.
Many of the blockades took place in front of maquiladoras along that corridor.
No group is claiming responsiblity for the blockades while authorities have not released any official information.
The blockades comes as thousands of tourists from Monterrey and other parts of northeastern Mexico head to the border for Semana Santa, or Holy Week.
