Body found near B&M bridge in Brownsville

Authorities are investigating a man's death after his body was found floating in the Rio Grande River in Brownsville.

Border Patrol agents found the man's body on the American side of the river near the B&M International Bridge on Wednesday morning.

The man's identity was not immediately available but Brownsville police are investigating the incident.

Investigators said the body is that of an unknown Hispanic male, between 25 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing between 145 and 185 pounds.

The man was wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and no shoes at the time of his death.

Investigators did not find any signs of foul play at this time and believe the man might have drowned.

An autopsy was ordered to determine the official cause of death. Investigators will now proceed to try to identify the body.
