A body was pulled from a water storage area near the west side of Brownsville, according to authorities.
The Brownsville Fire Department, along with the Brownsville Police Department and U.S. Border Patrol responded to the body found.
The body was spotted by a security officer near 13th street, at a Public Utilities Board (PUB) water reservoir around 11:30 a.m.
The Brownsville Fire Department TMs dive team extracted the body from the water.
According to the PUB, the drinking water is safe for consumption.
The reservoir is used to store water before going to the water treatment plant, according to Ryan Greenfeld with the Brownsville Public Utilities Board.
The identity of the individual pulled from the reservoir is not currently being released and the investigation is currently ongoing.
