      Bomb Threat forces school into lockdown

      McAllen Memorial High School is evacuated after threats of a bomb on campus.

      McAllen ISD Spokesman Mark May told Action 4 News the entire school was evacuated shortly after 8 a.m. after a text message was received claiming a bomb was on campus.

      Students and teachers were "evacuated to [baseball fields] the northwest portion of the campus" May said.

      May also stressed that they are encourage parents not to pick up their children at this time.

      Authorities have completed an entire sweep of McAllen Memorial High School as of 11:22 a.m., and no bomb was found.

      A second sweep will be conducted.

      Authorities are not saying who received the text or who may have sent the tex message.

      McAllen Memorial is located on the 100 block of East Hackberry in McAllen.

      First responders including the McAllen bomb squad remain on scene.
