Authorities are investigating an incident where two Border Patrol agents were reportedly attacked by bees.
It all happened in a remote area just west of the Los Indios International Bridge around 10:15 a.m. Monday.
U.S. Border Patrol spokesman Henry Mendiola told Action 4 News that two Border Patrol agents were on foot in the brush when the bees swarmed and attacked.
Mendiola said one of the two agents had trouble breathing prompting Border Patrol officials to drive him directly to the hospital themselves.
Paramedics took the other agent to the hospital in an ambulance.
Mendiola said both Border Patrol agents are in stable condition but the one who had trouble breathing will be held longer for observation.
Border Patrol officials will have to determine who is the landowner before they can take care of the beehive.
