Paramedics rushed a boy to a local hospital after he allegedly fell out of a window of a second floor apartment in Harlingen.

It all happened at the Rosemont At Highland Gardens apartments off East Tyler Avenue just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Details were not immediately available but police and paramedics were called to the scene.

The 5-year-old boy reportedly hurt his leg in the fall and was rushed to a local hospital for evaluation.

Family members told Action 4 News that the accident happened in the blink of an eye.

A woman who identified herself as a family member said the boy suffers from and takes medication for ADHD and is "very hyper."

The boy was with his parents and visiting his aunt who had her windows open to air out the apartment due to an overflowed toilet.

The family member said the boy suddenly ran up the stairs and into the apartment and continued through the window before his parents could stop him.
