Brother and sister behind bars after crashing marijuana loaded van

A brother and sister were arrested after fleeing from police in a vehicle loaded with over 250 pounds of marijuana.

San Juan Police arrested the brother and sister on Friday, August 30, after an anonymous tip prompted police to a blue Chrysler van.

Authorities believed Arcadio Morin and his sister Jessica Yesenia Morin were transporting bundles of marijuana.

As San Juan police attempted to pull over the vehicle, the driver fled and ended up hitting another vehicle.

Jessica Morin did not stop at the scene of the accident.

San Juan police were able to catch up to the suspects, and they were arrested.

A total of 12 bundles of marijuana adding up to 262 pounds was found inside the van.

The 21-year-old brother and 26-year-old sister, along with two others were arraigned today on charges of evading arrest and possession of marijuana.

Investigators also arrested Francisco Medina-Palomo and Andres Ramos in connection to the drug case.

The four were arraigned before a San Juan judge at 11:30 p.m.
