It advertised itself as a fruit business but Brownsville police said it was not exactly the fresh produce attracting customers.
Police raided an illegal gambling arcade on the 7100 block of Boca Chica Boulevard on Thursday.
Officers arrested 38-year-old Erika Salazar and 58-year-old Pablo Covarrubias on state gambling charges.
Covarrubias allegedly ran the gameroom and another one just a few blocks down the street.
Investigators reported that Covarrubias tried to flee from police on foot but was caught down the street.
Brownsville Police Department spokesman J.J. Trevio spoke to Action 4 News about the raid.
"They recovered approximately 100 plus machines total at both locations, as well as approximately $8,000 dollars in U.S. currency, Trevio said.
A total of about 60 customers were inside the game rooms at the time of the raids but none of them were cited.
