A Brownsville father is facing criminal charges after a domestic violence incident where he allegedly hit a crying baby.
Brownsville police arrested 24-year-old Oscar Garcia Hernandez on Tuesday evening.
Officers were called to an alcohol-fueled domestic disturbance at home on Zena Drive just before 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Hernandez is accused of hitting a baby who was crying leaving red marks on the child's rib cage and stomach.
Paramedics were called to evaluate the baby.
Officers charged Hernandez with Class C misdemeanor assault family violence and injury to a child.
Bond information was not immediately available.
