Brownsville stabbing suspect behind bars

A man is behind bars after a warrant was issued for stabbing a man and leaving the scene.

The arrest happened on the 100 block of Mebec Street Thursday.

According to Brownsville police, Miguel Angel Martinez had an argument with a group of people on Friday, September 20th.

Police told Action 4 News that the 18-year-old stabbed the male victim on the 6100 block of South Padre Island Highway and fled the scene before police arrived.

The victim of the stabbing filed charges against Martinez.

An aggravated assault warrant was issued for the 18-year-old.

A bond of $100,000 was set for Martinez.
