      Brownsville traffic stop yields 68 pounds of marijuana

      A man is behind bars after a traffic stop revealed that he was driving around Brownsville with more than 68 pounds of marijuana inside his car.

      Brownsville police arrested 24-year-old Robert Charles Garcia on a possession of marijuana charge on Monday.

      Investigators told Action 4 News that an undercover agent saw another man give Garcia a box off Paredes Line Road.

      The undercover officer followed Garcia until a marked police car pulled over his maroon Chevy Impala for a traffic stop off Expressway 77/83 and FM 511 in Olmito.

      Police allegedly found several bundles with 68.08 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of his car.

      Garcia appeared before a Brownsville Municipal Court judge where he was issued a $25,000 bond.
