A Buffalo Wild Wings bartender is off the job after getting arrested for selling alcohol to a minor.
Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) agents arrested 33-year-old Areli Vanessa Flores at the restaurant's Weslaco location on Friday night.
TABC Lt. Mario Villarreal spoke to Action 4 News about the investigation and the arrest.
Lt. Villarreal said TABC had received complaints about the Buffalo Wild Wings off Westgate Drive and Expressway 83 in Weslaco selling alcohol to minors.
An undercover agent allegedly sat back and watched sales taking place but noticed Flores selling a Shiner Bock beer to someone who appeared to be an underage minor in a fluorescent green shirt.
The Weslaco restaurant was packed following the Weslaco at Weslaco East game on Friday night.
TABC agents entered the bar and carded those inside. The person in the fluorescent green shirt turned out to be 19 years old.
Lt. Villarreal said the 19-year-old was cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol while agents arrested Flores at work for selling alcohol to minors.
Flores allegedly told TABC agents that she did not check for an identification card when she sold beer to the person in the fluorescent green shirt.
An investigation continues but Lt. Villarreal said the restaurant could be fined or face a temporary suspension of its liquor license.
Action 4 News spoke to restaurant management who said Flores had been fired but declined to make further comment.
