Bus service officials recommend travelers to secure tickets ahead of Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving a week away, bus service officials recommend those traveling for the holiday to secure their seats in advance.

The La Plaza Brownsville bus terminal will have its doors open 24 hours a day beginning Nov. 20 to Jan. 8.

With Thanksgiving a week away, bus service officials recommend those traveling for the holiday to secure their seats in advance.

Brownsville Metro Director Robert Garza says the station hopes to accommodate everybody’s traveling needs this holiday season.

“People are traveling all over the country to visit family members from Dallas to Houston—outside of Texas,” Garza said. “Buses in and out of here on the hour, so we expect—based on previous years—we do expect a large crowd.”

Garza encourages travelers at the La Plaza bus station to park in the designated parking garage across the street.

Correction: The La Plaza Brownsville bus terminal will be open 24 hours a day beginning Nov. 20, not Nov. 18.
