Call 4 Action - Family asks questions into son TMs death at detention facility

Rosalinda Loredo showed Action 4 News the last Mother TMs Day card she will ever receive from her son.

She said Saturday she learned he committed suicide at the Willacy County Regional Detention Facility.

Rosalinda' son, Hilario Loredo, was an inmate at the facility.

Court records show he was being held on an illegal re-entry charge.

He was set to be sentenced in just a few weeks.

Rosalinda does not believe her son committed suicide.

She told Action 4 News Hilario, believed he would be deported.

She said he was happy and sent her letters promising big hugs when the two would meet in Mexico for Mother's Day.

Instead, Rosalinda laid her son to rest Tuesday.

She said she still does not believe the man she saw at the funeral was her son.

She has many questions as to how Hilario died but says answers are hard to come by.

Rosalinda told Action 4 News she TMs been told to ask all questions to the U.S. Marshals Office.

She said Marshals are offering her no explanation.

U.S. Marshals did not return calls to Action 4 News.

Rosalinda said she only hopes security will be more careful when guarding other inmates.

She said her pain is too much for one more person to bear.

Action 4 News learned Hilario Loredo faced a 10-year sentence.

A sentencing recommendation was made, but those records remain sealed.
