The Cameron County Sheriff TMs Office arrested an alleged drug dealer during an undercover sting on Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies arrested Eleazar Moody Jr, 41, as he tried to sell cocaine to an undercover officer at a parking lot.
It took place at about 1 p.m. off of Ed Carey Drive and Expressway 77 in Harlingen.
Sheriff Omar Lucio said the after the transaction, his deputies surrounded Moody and arrested him.
They also found nearly two pounds of cocaine in his possession.
Deputies booked Moody into the Carrizales-Rucker Detention Center and will face a judge on Thursday morning, according to Sheriff Lucio.
The sheriff added that Moody has an extensive criminal record spanning three decades.
He has previously faced charges for burglary of a home, evading arrest, theft, aggravated assault, and possession of marijuana, among others.
