Authorities are currently looking for a two-month-old boy in Edinburg.
A dive team is searching a canal for the child.
Early this morning the child TMs father, mother and a family friend were driving north on Seminary Road and 2812 in Edinburg.
The family friend was driving on the southbound lane when they veered off the road causing an accident.
The driver was critically injured and taken to McAllen Medical Center, while the father allegedly walked home.
The woman stayed at the scene and told authorities that the two-month-old was with the father.
When authorities questioned the father, he said the two-month-old was with the mother.
The conflicting stories resulted in the search.
The Edinburg Fire Department, Hidalgo County Sheriff TMs Department, and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) are assisting in the search.
DPS reports that the driver died at the hospital around 4:30 p.m.
