Car involved in Houston DEA shootout linked to the Valley

A vehicle involved in a Houston shootout is registered to an owner in the Rio Grande Valley.

A DEA agent, working undercover, had to fire his weapon multiple times at the suspected vehicle.

It was an undercover narcotics case gone wrong, according to Houston police.

Authorities have not confirmed if the vehicle TMs owner is one of the suspects in the shootout.

Drug Enforcement Agents said they should be releasing more information as early as Monday.

The agent wasn't hurt in the shootout, but the suspect was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Three other suspects were cuffed and questioned on-site---all are now facing federal charges.
