Carnival worker's body found on Harlingen roadway

The death is under investigation

Authorities are investigating the death of a carnival worker whose body was found along a Harlingen roadway.

It all happened at Gayle Avenue and the frontage road of U.S. Highway 77 in Harlingen around 10 a.m. Friday.

Investigators said a 62-year-old man's body was found face down in front of a business.

Cameron County Justice of the Peace Eloy Cano was called out to the scene to pronounce the man dead and order an autopsy.

Judge Cano told Action 4 News that the man did not appear to have any visible wounds.

A driver's license found on the man's body identified him as being from Pecos, Texas but investigators also learned he worked with a carnival.

The man's name is being withheld until his family has been notified.
