CBP officer arrested after McAllen shooting

CBP officer accused of shooting a man in McAllen

A Customs and Border Protection officer was arrested this morning following an early morning shooting in north McAllen.McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez says the shooting happened Friday morning just after 2:30 am in an apartment complex on the 5400 block of North 15th Street.Rodriguez said a domestic dispute between the CBP officer and his girlfriend's brother led to the shooting.Investigators confirm that customs officer Randal Wayne Sutterfield allegedly shot the victim in the face and fled the scene.The victim was taken to McAllen Medical Center for treatment.Authorities arrested Sutterfield at the Border Patrol checkpoint in Falfurrias about an hour later.

Sutterfield is expected to be charged with attempted murder.
