Cell phones returned after man burglarizes building

      A Harlingen man is behind bars after he allegedly stole six cellular phones.

      Carlos Ismael Montoya Jr. was arrested for burglary after a Cricket Store in Harlingen was broken into.

      The alarm at the business went off after a front glass door was shattered around 3:48 a.m. on Thursday.

      According to Harlingen police, an investigation revealed that he had stolen six phones valued at $2,949.

      Officers checked the area and located Montoya.

      Witnesses allegedly identified Montoya as the individual who burglarized the Cricket store located on the 1600 block of Tyler Avenue in Harlingen.

      He was arrested for burglary of a building, a state jail felony.

      The stolen cell phones were found and returned to the Cricket store.

      If found guilty, Montoya could face up to two years behind bars and may be punished by a fine not to exceed $10,000.
