A Harlingen landlord was arrested for sexually assaulting a girl over three years ago.
The 14-year-old victim and her family were tenants of Hector Vargas Hernandez in 2009 and 2010.
On June 4, the victim made the outcry to her mother about the abuse that occurred when she was 10 and 11-years-old.
The teen said she had been sexually abused five times by Hernandez.
According to police, Hernandez threatened to kick the girl TMs family out of their home if she told anyone.
An investigation was launched after the victim TMs mother contacted Harlingen police.
Hernandez was taken into custody on Friday and taken to the Cameron County Jail.
The 44-year-old was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and his bond has been set at $750,000.
