A child is dead after he was found in a McAllen Country Club swimming pool.
According to country club employees, the boy was attending a stay and play summer camp when he was spotted at the bottom of the pool by lifeguards.
According to the Hidalgo County District Attorney Rene Guerra, the 4-year-old is the son of an Assistant District Attorney.
He was pulled out of the swimming pool and transported to the Rio Grande Regional Hospital, where he later died, according to Lt. Morales with the McAllen Police Department.
The incident is still under investigation and the cause of death is still pending, according to authorities.
