Edinburg Children's Hospital and the Child Fatality Committee of Hidalgo and Starr counties hosted Child Seat Check Off.
Certified child passenger safety seat technicians from the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Department inspected car seats for proper installation and provided recommendations for keeping children safe on the road.
"If we find that the seat is on a recall list or we find that the child no longer fits in the car seat properly, then we do have some seats available. And, we are able to replace the car seat with a new one," said R. Gomez, Hidalgo County Sheriff TMs Department.
Texas law requires children who are less than 8 years old and under 4 TM9 tall to ride in a booster seat or other approved car seat.
