Children wandering street leads to discovery of two women dead

Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevio release more information Sunday afternoon about the two women who were found dead in a home north of Weslaco.

Two children were found wandering the street around 7 a.m. near the crime scene when a person passing by pulled over asking them what they were doing.

The 5 and 6-year-old siblings told the driver that they were walking to their grandma TMs house because their mother was dead.

A 911 call was immediately made out and that is what led Hidalgo County Sheriff TMs Office to find the women stabbed in a house on Mile 6 West and Mile 11 North.

One woman was found in the garage and the other woman was found in the restroom.

Another woman, a neighbor, was kidnapped around the same time by a man authorities believe is responsible for the murders.

Three hours later, the man and kidnap victim made a stop at the Rudy TMs Restaurant in McAllen where the suspect went inside to use the restroom.

The woman was able to get away and call 911.

The suspect fled the scene.

Authorities are searching for the man who is driving a 2012 White Ford Focus.

He is reported to be a Hispanic 200 lb male and is considered Armed and Dangerous.
